#Tallahassee, FL, August 20, 2022 – Despite a rough start during the Coronavirus Pandemic, one Islander successfully launched a business and has managed to keep it thriving.  Owner of TropiSkyn Beauty Bar, Frideisha Pitter who is the daughter of Adelphine Higgs Pitter (West Bay Club resort manager and businesswoman) and a TCI native is making a name for herself in Tallahassee, Florida.

Pitter is so good at what she does that it attracted the attention of local TV station, ABC27 which highlighted TropiSkyn as part of its black business month series.

Frideisha shared  that she had to use her savings to finance her dream. Pitter invested the cash at a time when unemployment in the US was at an all-time high; it was truly a leap of faith.

The beauty bar went forward with its facials, waxing, extractions, body butter, lash extensions,  and other luxury services.  A specialty are the vagicals which are performed safely and gently, says Pitter’s website.

“Opening this business during the pandemic [meant] it was too late for the Paycheck Protection Program loans for me. That was the hardest.” she said.

Even through the pandemic when cash was tight, Pitter managed to offer her clientele such an exhilarating experience, they kept on coming back and giving her stellar reviews.  Now, her loyalty base is solid with 50 returning customers.

The young entrepreneur, who is a licensed Esthetician explained “consistency and prayer were what kept her going.”

It is said, TropiSkyn located at 1020 Lafayette Street, Ste #216 in Tallahassee, FL is a household name.
