Yanique Represents TCI at World Championships 2022

#TurksandCaicos, July 21, 2022 – Jamaican-born, now Turks and Caicos islander track and field athlete Yanique Haye-Smith represented the TCI at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in the women’s 400m hurdles heats on Tuesday night.

Haye-Smith ran a time of 57.99 seconds.  Though that was not fast enough to qualify for the semi-finals, she qualified for the heats, and that’s a great accomplishment.

Haye-Smith was the only TCI athlete to compete in the 2022 Championships.  The event is being held in Eugene, United States, from Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 24.
