#TurksandCaicos, July 12, 2022 – Tourism in the Turks and Caicos is easily outperforming its best year on record based on air arrivals with a 183 percent increase in the first six months of 2022.
According to Deputy CEO of Administration at the Turks and Caicos Airports Authority Deveraux Malcolm, air arrivals almost doubled. There were 180,597 Air passenger arrivals in January to June 2021 versus a massive 331,824 in the same period in 2022, an increase of 151,227 arrivals
Earlier this year the TCIAA fielded record arrivals, up to 13,000 in a single weekend. The arrivals increased consistently for the first three months of the year and The passenger count for the first five months of the year exceeded the 2021 count by at least 20,000 per month. The biggest increase was in March an uptick of 33,522 arrivals
The record arrivals look poised to send the Turks and Caicos Islands into another banner tourism year.
Additionally the real estate industry is also maintaining its boom. Profits for quarter one of 2022 have surpassed last year’s record profits racking up $140.9 million and both industries expect the exponential increases to continue.
If they do, the Turks and Caicos will be well on the way to meeting its 400 million dollar revenue goal this fiscal year.
