Son of the Soil comes home to talk journey to NFL, Residents invited

#TurksandCaicos, July 15, 2022 – The Turks and Caicos’s first NFL drafted football player Faion Hicks is officially on island to detail his journey in a motivational speech open to all islanders.

Faion arrived in the TCI on Thursday in preparation for his “My Journey to a Pro” presentation at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Complex this Saturday July 16th at 12 pm.

On arrival he said, “This is home for a big part of my family— growing up I always wanted to come so to finally get the chance to come and just represent the islands in the next stage of my career? It’s amazing.”

During his trip Faion will visit the softball talent identification camp for girls as well.

“I do look forward to talking to the kids here who were once in my shoes and kinda give them a different perspective. To give them something to look up to is amazing.” He explained

Faion Plays is a Cornerback for the Denver Broncos along with Quarterback Russel Wilson and he says he has been talking to his team about possibly doing camps in the Turks and Caicos each year.

“I definitely want to give back and invest into the sports community, especially football.” He explained.

Faion’s presentation is free and all residents can attend; it will also be carried live on the TCI Sports Commission Facebook page.
