Former Deputy Premier Floyd Hall, Former Immigration Minister Jeffrey Hall, Former Speaker Clayton Greene and attorney Melbourne Wilson will all face criminal trial next month. This follows Chief Justice Mabel Ageymang’s ruling on Monday that the prosecution had successfully proved they do have a case for the men to answer to on all counts which include charges of corruption and conspiracy to defraud TCI Islanders.

The men had submitted no case arguments which failed.

Floyd Hall is charged with Conspiracy to defraud on at least two counts stemming from the sale of land on Water Cay and North West Point. Additionally he is charged with accepting corrupt payments or rewards while serving as a government minister, and conspiring with former premier Michael Misick in similar land deals.

Jeffrey Hall and Wilson are also facing at least one count of conspiracy to defraud while Greene is charged with concealing or disguising the proceeds of criminal conduct.

The charges in the case stem from a series of land transactions carried out by members of the then government between 2003 and 2009. The areas in question include, Water Cay, North West Point and West Caicos.

The defendants, barring Green, are all on trial for conspiracy to defraud the Crown, the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands and/or the Belongers, by arranging the transfer of Crown land on terms that were contrary to the economic interests often Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands and/or the said Belongers.
