#USA, June 16, 2022 – The United States House of Representatives has passed a bill that raises the legal age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21, among other reforms, including limiting the size of magazines.

The bill must now pass in the Senate where a simple majority of 51 out of 100 is required. Unfortunately, the Senate is split evenly with 50 Republican senators 48 Democratic Senators, and two Democratic-leaning independent Senators. For the bill to pass a republican Senator must vote yes, which seems unlikely. US media says the bill is unlikely to pass.

A survivor of the Uvalde shooting and parents of victims testified in Congress on Wednesday June 8,  about the horrors of the shooting.

One of the surviving teachers who was shot twice told Good Morning America he will never forgive the police. In an emotional interview, he begged his students who had been killed to forgive him.
