One person has been hospitalized in the Turks and Caicos with COVID19 in the last week according to the latest COVID19 Health Dashboard.  Twenty two (22) new cases of the disease were also recorded from June 11-18, South Caicos was back on the dashboard for the first time in a while with four cases of the illness, Grand Turk had 6 and Providenciales 12 thankfully there have been no new deaths.

On the world stage, Europe has overtaken the Americas for the newest cases and Africa has the least cases and deaths worldwide.  The Turks and Caicos has been listed by the WHO as having the greatest proportional increase in cases.  This means the greatest percentage increase between this week and last week, not the most cases.  Twenty nine (29) new cases this week vs 12 last week is an increase of 149 percent

It is important to note that the TCI Health ministry’s 7-day count and the WHO’s 7day count differ slightly.  The WHO goes from Monday (June 13) to Sunday (June 19), whereas the TCI Health Ministry counts from Saturday (June 11) to Saturday (June 18).  Both counts are still accurate as the TCI updates the WHO daily.

Following the TCI is Saint Kitts and Nevis with 73 new cases this week vs 39 new cases last week, an increase of 87 percent.

The highest total number of new cases and deaths was recorded by the United States of America.
