Former TCI Cabinet Minister, Lewis Astwood gets Official Funeral, June 8
#TurksandCaicos, June 6, 2022 – Former political leader and Minister of Works Lewis Astwood III will be given an Official Funeral with full honors for his service to the TCI come Wednesday June 8th . The announcement was made by the government on Tuesday. 
Astwood was elected to the House of Assembly for a decade from 1978 to 1988. He also served as an appointed member for five years from 1991 to 1995.
Astwood’s funeral will be held at Paradise Baptist Church in Five Cays at 10am.
Members of the Cabinet and House of Assembly will view the body on Tuesday at Saint Monica’s Anglican Church and the general public will be allowed to view between 4 -7 pm ONLY.
All persons attending the official ceremony at Paradise Baptist must be seated by 9 am. For those who cannot attend the funeral will be carried live on Radio Turks and Caicos and the Radio Turks and Caicos Facebook page.
Flags are to be flown half-mast across the nation until June 8.
