#TurksandCaicos, May 27, 2022 – The MSME Grant Program provided by Invest TCI will be getting upgrades soon according to the acting CEO Angela Musgrove. During her speech at the Invest Turks & Caicos Agency  Economic Conference held May 24, Musgrove indicated that the company was attempting to fix any weaknesses in the program.

One way Musgrove indicated that this would happen would be mandatory training and support in the areas of financials, marketing and customer service prior to grant approval.

Musgrove also indicated that the country was well on its way to significantly growing the financial sector.

“We have made quite a number of significant strain not just money that has been budgeted but also agreements that have been signed with the ministry that allow us to be able to move things forward and get the sector moving .”

She promised that initiatives will be rolled out regarding the sector in the next few weeks.

Musgrove also reinforced the fact that development agreements were always  available for Islanders who sought to get concessions while they were doing their part to build the Turks and Caicos, noting that they were not only for foreign investment.

Additionally the suggestions from the session would be put directly to use for the benefit of Islanders.

“We’ll take the feedback from this session and move towards policy reforms that allow us to incentivize the proactive engagement of local businesses in the economy. We want to see policy reforms that promote genuine partnerships and provide for greater incentives to Foreign Direct Investment with local partners.”

She maintained that the people were their first priority and promised the company would make sure that the persons who needed the help most were those that were actually benefitting.

The economic conference, in its third year was held at Beaches Resort Villages & Spa in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
