#TurksandCaicos, May 12, 2022 – An open letter of concern alleging discriminatory practices and biasness has been penned by the TCI Aquatics Swim Club.

Addressed to the TCI Swim Federation the letter alleges that TCI Aquatics Club has been victim to discriminatory attacks serving to disenfranchise the members of their club by a few self-serving individuals whom, the letter says, are prepared to ‘torpedo any swimmer in the way of their personal agendas.’

The letter alleges that this has been allowed to happen because the board of the TCI swimming federation is biased and weak.

Despite successful training routines which have produced podium athletes they say they have been at unfairly blocked from national competition as well as and petitioning has brought no change.

The letter lists ten legacy issues found within the federation including allegations that TCI aquatics club members have been forced train in the open ocean because other coaches have shut TCI Aquatics only student ready pool in the country.

And more serious allegations of racial tension, abuse leveled at the president by members of the federation , a lack of diversification and nepotism on the board.

MM cannot confirm any of these allegations but the TCI AQUATICS Club has called for an audit of the Board.

The letter has been shared with FINA which is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee for administering international competitions in water sports.

There has been no response from the Turks and Caicos Islands Swimming Federation on the contents of the revealing letter.
