#TurksandCaicos, May 12, 2022 – Anyone who wants to work in the Turks and Caicos Islands now has a fair shot as the moratorium on first time work permits and temporary work permits has ended and all reports indicate it will not be renewed. The moratorium was created in April last year during height of the COVID-19 pandemic to get more jobs to TCI Islanders.

But since the cases have slowed and business has picked up, operators have been calling for an end to the moratorium. The Turks and Caicos had a banner tourism year and real estate year in 2021 so the need for workers is understandable

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government will now allow all applications for work permits  to be received by the Customer and Employment Service Department prior to the receipt of the good health certificates which must be turned in for the application to be approved.

The moratorium comes just in time for the 2020 to 2023 recruitment program.

Over 300 positions in government are open to be filled this year across more than 11 areas including the Office of the Deputy Governor’s and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
