#TurksandCaicos, May 19, 2022 – Young Turks and Caicos Islanders are being urged to enter the Nursing field.  The encouragement came from Health Minister Jamell Robinson as he was speaking at the First Annual Nurses Conference on May 11th 2022. Robinson acknowledged the hard work and dedication it took to e a nurse during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I today wish to express my profound thanks to nurses all over the world, but especially to the nurses that care for our patients here in the Turks and Caicos Islands.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw many being affected and our nurses were on the front line managing our patients with grace and humility. We salute you and say thank you, thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do.” He said

He addressed the potential recruits,

“I take this opportunity to encourage others under the sound of my voice to become nurses. Our healthcare and its people need you.”

Nurses were treated to a week of activities at various hotels across the islands last week including a nurse of the year banquet attended by the Deputy Governor Anya Williams, Ministers Rachel Taylor and Akeirra Missick and the Attorney General.
