Two outstanding Caribbean female athletes had recently competed and as usual did a remarkable job.  The Jamaican athlete, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has once again had a not so surprising win, while the Bahamian athlete, Shaunae Miller-Uibo though she was in the top three, her performance came as a surprise.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce posted as the fastest 100m in the world this year after clocking 10.67secs, a world leading win for her season opener in Nairobi on Saturday, May 7.  Reports are that it was a comfortable win.  The 35 year old Jamaican sprinter’s winning time was close to her personal best of 10.60.

As for the Bahamian Olympic Champion, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, it was a rare defeat as she finished third in the women’s 400m race at the 2022 Diamond League season.  Marileidy Paulino from the Dominican Republic and Stephenie-Ann Mcpherson from Jamaica were first and second.

The twenty-eight year old is known for finishing strong but was this time unable to reach up to Paulino and was overtaken by McPherson.
