Barbados’ Mia Mottley stands Courageously Caribbean as among TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2022

#Barbados, May 27, 2022 – Mia Mottley has been named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2022. A coveted position The list is a measure of influence whether that influence be labeled for “good or ill” Time Magazine says.

As such Mottley shared the stage with leaders like Volodimir Zelensky (Ukraine) and Vladimir Putin (Russia) who have undoubtedly shaped the world this year. Credited for her tenacity in defending those in need, Mottley is described by Time as “Bold, fearless, and possessing a great intellect and wit, the Prime Minister is a brilliant politician who knows how to shake things up.”

Listed in the “Leaders” Category Mottley was alongside Zelensky(President of Ukraine), Ketanji Brown Jackson (the first Black women US Supreme Court Justice), Joe Biden (US President) , Xi Jinping (Head of State for China) and several other trailblazers.

Introduced to the global stage by her passionate address at COP26 last year Mottley cuts an unapologetic and striking figure and her words are no different, they left a serious impression on the woman who authored her article Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

An icon in her own right, Okonjo-Iweala is the first woman and first African to lead the World Trade Organization as Director-General.

Iweala describes Mottley as “an embodiment of our conscience, reminding us all to treat our planet, and therefore one another, with love, dignity, and care.”
