#TurksandCaicos, April 22, 2022 – Free tuition is already approved for TCI and both students but how does it work? The process is surprisingly simple and it means no more going to the scholarship association, rather students will be able to apply directly.

“Persons are to visit the Turks and Caicos Community College, TCICC website and note the programs and courses that are available, the dates for submission of application registration of courses and the documents that will be needed. Applications must be submitted online during the month of May, in the meantime persons who wish to express their interest may do so in hardcopy format, all required documents must be presented before applications are processed.”

Clara Gardiner, interim president of the TCICC explained that anyone who wants to apply for a scholarship for overseas universities will go through a different process attached to the Scholarship Secretariat.  Keeping in mind that April 30th is the deadline for all applications local and international potential scholarship students have several steps they must complete.

“Please be prepared to submit a complete application form, Two passport size photos certified by a notary, Two reference letters.  A copy of a status card and passport page certified by a notary public, a personal statement and certified copies of qualifications obtained thus far.

There will be no exceptions and failure to submit these by April 30th will result in an incomplete application with no further action taken,” explained Sharine Lightbourne, representative of the Scholarship Secretariat.

Students who meet that deadline must now turn in their transcript, proof of acceptance and proof of tuition and accommodation costs by June 30th for international aid and August 17th for local financial assistance.

Minister of Education, Rachel Taylor encouraged students to make use of the many opportunities in the education sector to better themselves.
