#TurksandCaicos, April 7, 2022 – You have probably heard it by now, but it bears repeating… beloved small and big screen actor Bruce Willis is stepping away from acting.

Family of the actor known for the 67-year-old Die Hard series has revealed that he is suffering from health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia.

Aphasia is a language disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension. It leaves a person unable to communicate effectively with others.

His wife, Emma Hemming-Willis, whom the megawatt star married in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2009 made the announcement in a Facebook post explaining that it was a challenging time.  She expressed appreciation for the continued love and compassion and support.

Willis’ family has spent a great deal of time in the Turks and Caicos, as a homeowner on award winning, luxury island Parrot Cay, where they have a lavish home.

That home is now listed for sale at $37.5 million.

Willis broke ground at his home in paradise in 2000 and construction wrapped up in 2004.  He was married there and is a regular visitor to the islands, the couple with family and friends even renewing their vows at the home in 2019.

Bruce and Emma told architectural digest that for the past 20 years they had made many beautiful memories, fell in love and married at the Parrot Cay estate.  Remarking on their “two baby moons on the Cay” but it was time to let go, the house was sold in 2019 for $27 million.

Some media reports indicate that Bruce Willis sold $65 million in assets as his health declined.
