#TurksandCaicos, April 7, 2022 – Following several allegations posted online the Integrity Commission has released a statement confirming that indeed an Immigration officer has been arrested and charged on corruption offenses; that officer who is unnamed in the statement has been released on bail.

The 42-year old will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal trial, said the Integrity Commission.

In a separate statement, the Integrity Commission informed of another seven Government staff members who are also now on administrative leave; labelled suspected co-conspirators in an ongoing criminal matter.

The seven are charged by the Director of Public Prosecutions office.

A photo of at least the first suspect, the 42-year old Immigration officer is in wide circulation on social media.

It is unclear if the administrative leave for the eight TCIG employees is with or without pay.

What the IC did say, is they would not be providing any additional information on the matter.
