#TurksandCaicos, March 16, 2022 – Another man was last night shot to death in what Police suspect is an armed robbery. Said to be dropping off a friend in the South Dock area, this man was ambushed and shot dead.
The Police Commissioner says the levels of violence are unjustified and at this point the Royal TCI Police need information in the crime which brings the country to murder count to four.
Three of the four murders were recorded in the past three days; all gun crimes, all men and all in Providenciales.
Magnetic Media, in a response obtained from the TCI Hospitals can confirm that the man who was shot in an armed attack at the Provo Landfill on Saturday morning, died on Monday as a result of gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The TCI Hospitals confirmed three males presenting with gun shot wounds at hospital over the holiday weekend.
The hospitals confirmed a second male patient in his mid-twenties was seen in the ER of Cheshire Hall Medical on Sunday; his gunshot wound was to the lower body. That patient was treated and is now in stable condition.
There had been reports of a young man being shot in the leg on Monday; it was thought to be mere street talk. However, it appears there was an actual gun-shot victim as the Hospital informed a man in his mid-twenties was hit in the lower body; that man was treated and was discharged yesterday.
As for the man last night, Tuesday March 15, it is said he had just arrived in Providenciales from Grand Turk for work.
