Female Officer dies suddenly, Police Commissioner says they are “devastated”

#TurksandCaicos, March 16, 2022 – On Wednesday night, in a shocking report, the national learned of a second woman in law enforcement lost, suddenly.

The first, an Immigration officer died in a traffic accident on Sunday.  The second, a member of the Royal TCI Police suffered a medical emergency, and just like that, was gone.

Commissioner of the Royal TCI Police, Trevor Botting in a statement on Thursday night said the news has brought overwhelming sadness and sorrow to the Police Family.

Constable Nivlyn Moore’s beautiful, young face was circulated on social media in photographs… and it is another crushing blow as another emerging lady law enforcer is snatched away.

Moore was attached to the Grand Turk unit, “she took ill Wednesday after a few days of feeling unwell” and despite attempts to save her, she died and her cause of death remains unknown.

“The cause of her passing is not known so, speculations won’t be made at this point, as the cause will become known in due time. The Officers and staff of the RTCIPF are stunned by this devastating news of the loss of one of us, our sister, our colleague and our friend. Constable Moore served our communities with dedication and pride.”

The statement said members of the Force are stunned.

‘It is with overwhelming sadness and sorrow that I have to report tonight that, one of our Police Family has suddenly passed away. Constable Nivlyn Moore who worked with the Investigation Team on Grand Turk…”

“As we mourn her death, I ask that our communities keep her immediate family, her friends and her colleagues, especially those on Grand Turk in their prayers. There are undoubtedly some very difficult days ahead for us as a Force as we come to terms with Constable Moore’s loss but I know we have the strength as a Police Family to support and draw strength from each other to deal with our grief and sadness.”

Condolences are also expressed by the Commissioner, these were also all over social media once news of the sudden death broke.

“On behalf of the Force Executive Team, Senior Officers, Ranks and Members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force I wish to extend condolences to Constable Moore’s family and friends. May her soul rest in peace.”
