#Canada, March 3, 2022 – The Canadian government is falling in line with the rest of the world when it comes to COVID-19 protocols and no longer will travellers have to present a negative PCR test.

Vaccinated individuals can now choose an antigen test, to be  taken the day before their flight which will now suffice Canadian border workers.

The tests must however be administered by a professional, as at home tests are not yet accepted.

This change by officials makes travel not only less cumbersome and hectic, but more affordable as the PCR tests cost up to $200 per person.  Rapid Antigen Tests are significantly more affordable.

Travelers, regardless of age, previously had to test again when they landed in Canada and quarantine if they were positive for COVID but as of Monday, February 28 any fully vaccinated traveler will only need to take an on arrival test if they become randomly selected to do so.

Fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to quarantine while they are waiting for their results.

Another change is that unvaccinated children under 12 years old will no longer be subject to any restrictions.

Canada does still have an advisory out, warning against cruise travel but with the loosening of these air travel restrictions has the travelling public optimistic about a nod of approval for cruise travel.
