#TurksandCaicos, February 16, 2022 – Due to concerns over the health of defendants and participants in the high profile Special Investigation and  Prosecution Team trial (SIPT) caused by what the Chief Justice described as inadequate ventilation, the trial will continue this week, but in a virtual format.

Facing pushback for the decision Chief Justice, Mabel Ageymang  expressed the concern linked to the sheer number of people that would need to be present in the specially annex court room.

The CJ was firm, possible COVID infection due to poor ventilation was a risk she wasn’t willing to take.

The trial against former Deputy Premier Floyd Hall, former Minister of Immigration Jeffrey Hall, former Speaker of the House of Assembly Clayton Greene and attorney Melbourne Wilson who are facing charges of corruption, has been ongoing since 2016 and will still  be streamed live.
