#TurksandCaicos, February 25, 2022 – If you are searching for woodwork, metalwork, vanity items and tools, some handmade with the fusion of Caribbean cultures, then you may need to add Sister Craft Market and Souvenir Shop to your list of stops.

A few months ago, you would have found the owner of Sister Craft Market, Rosita Stflrir, in Grace Bay at the El Vannah Craft Market, but she recently relocated to the Bight, near the gas station there.

She said the move since November last year has been a struggle, but her passion keeps her going. Sure it does; this year marks Sister Craft Market’s 24th year in operation, and she is quite hopeful.

“I love this business; I love it so much,” she expressed.

Her love, it seems, surpasses the extent of the current challenges; Stflrir said she will be patient because that is just the nature of business.

Stflrir is Haitian-born, and she explained that some of her pieces, particularly the handmade items, are a reflection of the Haitian culture; some she also fused with the culture of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

She makes and sells items like bead necklaces, straw bags, picture frames, conch shells, and T-shirts.

She said the items are for everyone: babies, adults, men and women, and young boys and girls. As she tries to serve the TCI community with her talents and love for cultures, she yearns for the support of the residents.

Again, Sister Craft Market & Souvenir Shop is still in operation and can be found at the Bight Gas Station, close to Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Opening hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm daily.
