#TurksandCaicos, February 07, 2022 – The Grand Turk community suffered yet another arson last week; this time the former home of Mitch Rollings of Blue Water Divers turned AirBnB, was on Tuesday February 1, torched.

Rollings was well known as a one-man-band in the 1990s: SkyLake.  He sold the home which was converted to a vacation rental yet the loss of it and at least one vehicle to the fire, greatly troubled residents of Grand Turk.

The fire appears to have happened in the wee hours of the morning; there was no official report on the blaze.

The Domestic fire crew did show up to put out the blaze, but insufficient water hampered their efforts which were also exacerbated by whipping winds due to the cold front in the area.

The incident occurred in the West Road area.

Commissioner of Police, Trevor Botting in a rare act, issued a full statement and video on the incident, (which is featured on page 2 of the Magnate).

Days later, a public meeting was held to introduce new officers and a new strategy coming for Grand Turk in order to tackle the ongoing problem of intentional fires and other unsolved crime.
