#TurksandCaicos, January 28, 2022 – The wife of the tourist man who died due to Covid-19 on Thursday is still here; she also tested positive for the virus.  Our news organization is told it was simply heartbreaking for the woman who discovered her 65-year-old husband unresponsive at the pool of their resort on Thursday afternoon.

The man, a 65 year old fully vaccinated and boosted guest to the country was here on holiday from New York.  He was the 33rd person to die of Covid-19 in the Turks and Caicos Islands; followed on Sunday by another man, this time in Grand Turk, who also had underlying health conditions.

Between January 19th-25th there have been 759 recoveries.

Over those seven days, 736 PCR tests have been carried out, returning 281 positives for the coronavirus.  Currently, Grand Turk has 41 active cases.

South Caicos up to Tuesday had 12 cases, now the country’s fishing capital is down to two active cases and Providenciales, was at 178 as of today 164.  The health dashboard also reveals a heartening drop in hospitalisations to four, after spiking to seven earlier this week.

At this time, Turks and Caicos has 207 active cases of Covid-19.
