#TurksandCaicos, December 31, 2021 – Health Minister Jamell Robinson says the Treatment Abroad Program (TAP) is still ongoing and while it did face challenges in the height of the summer wave of the Delta variant, things are better now.

Minister Robinson was speaking with Magnetic Media last Thursday.

In response to questions about the program, he said that TAP was still available to COVID negative Turks and Caicos residents in the usual countries, including the Bahamas and Jamaica, provided they have the bed space.

“They’ve been back for some time now…if it’s a person who’s COVID negative the entire network is available as long as that location has the bed space available to treat that patients’ needs.”

In terms of COVID positive patients the Minister told Magnetic Media.

“Were still only able to utilize the Dominican Republic and Columbia for our COVID cases.

Minister Robinson said that the practice of cremation for COVID positive deaths in the Dominican Republic to his knowledge had not yet changed.
