#TurksandCaicos, December 22, 2021 – Crissy Pratt says her fight is not over. Pratt brought a case against the NHIP earlier this year alleging gross negligence and earlier this month, won her case and a settlement.

In an historic win, Pratt represented herself against the National Health Insurance Plan and its attorney, Guy Chapman in the case and was awarded  a meager but meaningful settlement of $1,180.

Pratt says that the NHIP fell so far below standard that she had been given the medical files of at least one deceased patient. vThe radio personality alleges she was abandoned in the Dominican Republic while on the NHIP’s Treatment Abroad Programme; she accused that it was at the direction of Dr. Bewiju CEO of NHIP.

Pratt claims she fought not only for herself, but for every person who may have suffered or are still suffering in similar circumstances. vShe expressed thanks to everyone who supported her during this time but said the  fight continues as she was now preparing for litigation against The Ministry of Health for failing to respond to serious complaints which she made against Interhealth Canada.

Crissy Pratt explained in a statement that, she would then be bringing action in the Supreme Court against Interhealth Canada TCI and the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre.

Magnetic Media obtained a comment from the National Health Insurance Board, a statement which said that Gricilda ‘Crissy’ Pratt chose not to take the initial settlement because of concerns over clauses in the agreement.

Ms. Pratt agreed, expressing that she chose not to sign the agreement because it contained a  Non-Disclosure and  she wanted the public to know the extent of the Health Insurance plan’s negligence.
