CIBC FirstCaribbean Appoints New Head of Country
#TurksandCaicos, 7 December 2021– CIBC FirstCaribbean is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Terrance Gibson to the position of Head of Country, Turks and Caicos Islands.
In his role, Mr. Gibson will support various tasks specific to CIBC FirstCaribbean’s broader corporate strategy, including repositioning the bank for growth across the region in a post-pandemic environment.
Dr. Jacqueline Bend, CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Managing Director, Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands said, “We know that Terrance’s wide-ranging experience in Retail, Credit Risk, Corporate and Wealth makes him well positioned to take on the role as Head of Country, Turks and Caicos Islands and we look forward to his leadership and contribution towards the further growth and development of the bank in TCI.”
With almost three decades of experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Gibson has both academic talent and business acumen. His professional career has included various roles in Retail, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Personal Credit Services-Credit Risk Management. Most recently, he served as Associate Director in Private Wealth
Dr. Bend added, “Undoubtedly, these roles have contributed to his significant exposure to, and knowledge of, the markets of the Northern Caribbean and the wider region.”
Mr. Gibson is excited to use his background and expertise in the reach of CIBC FirstCaribbean’s short and long-term goals.

Mr. Gibson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems (BBA) from Baruch College and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nova Southeastern University. He is a graduate of CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Branch Manager & Country Head Development Program and is currently completing the bank’s Senior Leadership Development Program.
