TCI National Physical Development Plan, Law on October 1st

#TurksandCaicos, September 29, 2021 – Today the team from the Turks and Caicos Islands Department of Planning along  with consultants will travel to the twin islands for a series of introductory meetings as the country is now days away from the historic roll out of the National Physical Development Plan.  
In a week of strategic activities and meetings, the Department has re-engaged public sector partners in order to ensure the smoothest roll out of the plan which comes into effect this Friday, October 1st.
Consultants arrived on Monday.
A series of crucial meetings were had on Tuesday including with Minister of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development, Hon Akierra Misick and the Turks and Caicos Islands Cabinet. 
Sessions also included the Public Works Department, the Estates Department and the Department of Housing.  The Commissioner of Lands, the Director of the DECR and the CEO of Invest Turks and Caicos Agency are now aware of and in possession of the new national plan.  Today, another weighty agenda as the District Commissioner of North Caicos, the Director of the TCI Tourist Board and the Director of Environmental Health are all scheduled for meetings with the Department and Consultants.
The National Physical Development Plan has been years in the making and is the first development blueprint for the Turks and Caicos Islands in 35 years.
