Cocktail Party of the Contestant’s Unveiling for the Miss Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre 2021 @ The Ritz Carlton

#TurksandCaicos, September 9, 2021 – On Friday, August 27, 2021, The Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre hosted a Cocktail Party at The Ritz Carlton, unveiling their six bold, beautiful, and confident contestants vying for the title of Miss. Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre 2021. The six contestants were sashed by Miss. Judith Guerrier, Sales and Marketing Manager, Ritz Carlton and the reigning Miss. Edward. C. Gartland Youth Centre, Miss Rolanda Sejour.

The 4th Annual Miss Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre Pageant is scheduled to take place on September 25, 2021, at 7:00pm at The Ritz Carlton, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Director, Roxann Wake-Forbes, shared that “This is not a typical beauty pageant found in the islands. The purpose of our pageant is to assist our six contestants find their purpose, develop their personality, identify their strengths and weaknesses, gain confidence and boost their self-esteem.”

Whilst working to achieve the pageant’s goal, the pageant committee and staff members of the Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre have and will continue to host a series of workshops that will provide these young ladies with transferable skills and experiences. This has included, but is not exhaustive to, Etiquette Training with Lady Delthia Misick, Beauty and Self-Confidence building with Miss. Johnna Messam, Positive Competition and Mental Health with mental health specialist, Mr. Tinashe Masango and Ms. Alicia Swann, General and Dental Hygiene with Paradise Smiles, to name a few.  These skill-building sessions will be ongoing through to the date of the pageant and after.

The contestants will all participate in interviews, talent, and final question segments prior to the main event, all of which will carry the most points.  Program Manager, Charvis Ferguson shared “We are striving to build well-rounded and confident members of society. We have seen significant changes in our young ladies already in the short time we have been working with them, including significant improvement in their confidence and also a growth in the comradery and the forging of a sisterhood that was not there before.”

The upcoming month will focus on deeper exploration of their inner self, reinforcement of their role as ambassadors for the youth centre and strengthening their foundations. We hope that the community will show their support for these courageous young ladies as they continue on this journey.

Tickets will be on sale at various locations including the Youth Centre, Wine Cellar and Unicorn Bookstore soon.

About the Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre

The Edward C.
