#TurksandCaicos, August 4, 2021 – Effective August 1st, 2021, The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force will be providing residents with an online application process to obtain a police record.

The online program will allow residents to electronically apply 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, applicants must attend the Police Records office for collection.

When applying online for a police record, applicants will be required to answer a series of authentication questions based on the applicant’s personal and employment information. Additionally, applicants will be required to upload a coloured copy of their passport or status card details. Non- Turks and Caicos Islanders are required to upload their passport and proof of legal status.

Applicants will receive an acknowledgement email and a $10 invoice that should be paid into the treasury. Having paid the invoice, applicants can email the receipt to the police records office. Upon collection, applicants must present original copies of the documents for verification along with a $10 stamp and receipt of payment.

“This new process is something the public was looking forward to, and we are delighted to have made this a reality. The process eliminates the need for anyone to come in person until collection. The new process will also decrease the processing time from 21 to ten business days. In addition, the application form is straightforward and can be completed on any device”, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Kendal Grant.

“We are making progress, and I would like to thank the public for their patience and the team at the records office for making this a success. Our goal is to serve you better, and we are happy that we have made this step. In-person applications can still be made at the Police Records Office. However, this process will gradually be phased out”, Assistant Commissioner of Police Grant added.
