#TurksandCaicos, July 8, 2021 – Turks and Caicos has made what the Minister of Tourism has called, a “noteworthy comeback” in tourism. During her contribution to the Budget, which is now passed at the House of Assembly, Hon Josephine Connolly informed: The first quarter of the calendar year 2021, saw January arrivals at 13,631.
The figure was a significant decrease for destination Turks and Caicos but by the traditional high season month of March numbers showed some 25,210 visitors had come to TCI, only 4 per cent below March 2020.
The Tourism Minister, who informed that her financial allocation has been doubled in the People’s Term Budget of Washington Misick, informed that summer business is up with hotel partners reporting occupancy levels of some 70 per cent on average.
This summer is expected to be one of the busiest on record, she said, given the pent-up demand, worldwide.
