#TurksandCaicos, June 26, 2021 – If you are already fully vaccinated; at any moment now you could receive an electronic certificate with its own QR code to authenticate your status.  It is called the Turks and Caicos Islands Covid-19 Vaccination E-Certificate and it replaces the current paper card.

This is new from the Ministry of Health and the Computer Information Technology Unit and it is just a taste of what e-government will look like for the Turks and Caicos.

E. Jay Saunders, the Minister of Health and Deputy Premier is leading the E-transformation of TCI for the new administration, and he said over the next 12 months “we will roll out a national ID smart card which will allow, among other things, secure verification of residents immunization by a third party.”

When it comes to the E-Certificate, the minister said this immediate roll out is phase one; phase two involves ALL inbound vaccinated passengers to be able to automatically upload their vaccination information to the TCI Assured portal.

The announcement will dramatically change current entry requirements.  Right now, only people who became fully vaccinated within Turks and Caicos are allowed to travel into the country without a PCR test.

Phase 2 opens the door to any inbound traveler, who authenticated as fully vaccinated to enjoy the same easier entry to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
