#TurksandCaicos, June 7, 2021 – Resorts in Turks and Caicos are incentivizing taking the Covid 19 vaccine with cash rewards and Ken Patterson, CEO of the Seven Stars Resort says it is working at his property as Seven Stars now has over 200 staff vaccinated.
Mr. Patters explained there is a $100 thank you gift to all staff who take the vaccine and a weekly cash pot of $500; a winner is selected randomly from the vaccinated team members.
Benefits to the Seven Stars Resort are tremendous, he said… “it helps us to market and fill the resort with guests.”
Un-vaccinated staff are tested weekly with zero positives for Covid 19 so far.
Additionally, in remarking on the Tuesday June 1 change to a lowered level of risk for travel to the TCI by the US centers for disease control, Ken Patterson said “TCI guests are largely seasoned travellers who take many factors into account when choosing their vacation destination and CDC travel advisories would not be ranked particularly highly in their decision making process.”
Patterson, whose resort has set up an impressive antigen testing center in Grace Bay shared only two guests out of over 7,000 tests performed in the past month have tested positive.
“Most guests are already vaccinated and pre-tested for Covid 19,” said the CEO of the Grace Bay Beach located resort.
Health Minister and Deputy Premier E. Jay Saunders, during a Wednesday press conference informed he will be reaching out to the CDC about the Level 3 rating, which is lowered from level 4, but not low enough in Saunders’ estimation.
