#TurksandCaicos, June 26, 2021 – All of the Caribbean overseas territory counties of Great Britain have been added to the Green List and that includes the Turks and Caicos Islands.  This means the TCI is considered safe for leisure travel for UK residents and those watching the ever changing rating are hoping this means British Airways will resume commercial flights to the TCI earlier than mid-July.

From the Caribbean:  Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Barbados; Bermuda; British Virgin Islands; Cayman; Dominica; Grenada; Montserrat and TCI are on the Green List which means travellers returning from these countries will have to take a Covid 19 test and fill out a passenger locator form.

Once back in the UK, they must be tested again on their second day home.

E. Jay Saunders, Turks and Caicos Health Minister and Deputy Premier informed, “the Governor has been working on this and it is a tremendous outcome… the UK Green rating for the TCI reflects the hard work and great strides we’ve made as a country in dealing with Covid19 and getting the infection rate down to a manageable level.”

Though some report the new additions on the Green List are still considered to be on the watch list, and just like an actual traffic light, the rating could switch without much notice.

Still, the Deputy Premier is celebrating the decision.

“Getting our CDC rating down to level 1 felt like hitting a big 3 pointer in the NBA playoffs and now the Governor just followed up with a trey of his own…”

Hon Saunders adds, the real congratulations however goes to Ministry of Health and wider medical community.
