According to Hon. Akierra Missick, TCI licensed contractors can bid and win on various TCIG development projects worth over $20 million in the current government’s budgetary allocations. The money is part of the over $48 million set for the new government’s budget in the fiscal year 2021-2022.

This is the first time the Ministry of Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development will host a summit of this kind and it will kick-off in Grand Turk on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at The Yellow Man & Son’s auditorium commencing at 10:00 am.

The ministry will hold a similar summit in Providenciales on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Complex, starting at 10:00 am.

“This event will outline the steps to bid on contracts, future projects in the pipeline and allow you to be added to the Ministry’s Contractor registry. We are inviting all licensed contractors and persons interested in learning more about the bidding process to attend this event,” Minister Akierra Missick stated concerning the upcoming events.

The minister added that the attendees must register for the workshop by sending an email containing their names and contact details to  Contractorsummit@gov.tc by May 13, 2021. And for those who won’t attend, a Zoom link will be sent to them.

The Contractors’ Summit is one of the planned initiatives by the TCIG to empower the locals in the Turks and Caicos Islands and help build a better and resilient economy. During her ministerial statement in the House Of Assembly, Hon. Missick stated that her ministry intends to empower TCI locals through training, recruitments, and building better infrastructure across the Turks and Caicos Islands.
