#TurksandCaicos, May 9, 2021 – They are usually easy to spot, often in groups, walking or jogging on the streets of Providenciales donning their bold red and white club shirts over black slacks; on May 8, the Provo Road Runners had a new distinction and it was regal.

Topped with shimmering tiaras, the Provo Road Runners said it was an idea to honour mothers in the community, while maintaining a vow to get and keep fit through healthy activity.

“This is actually the first year we are doing it.  We normally take long runs on Saturdays.  The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the new executive board to think outside the box to create exciting walks in order to keep the group moving,” said Karen Deveaux.

At Easter, the Provo Road Runners hosted a Bunny Hop run, which was also a first of its kind event and well attended.

AT 5:15am, the runners hit the streets to cover the distance from Graceway Gourmet to the International School.  Trading their signature red for pink and other spring time colours, the women were in fine form crowed as ‘Queen’ ahead of their special day: Mother’s Day which is celebrated around the world today, May 9.
