#TurksandCaicos, May 11, 2021 – Each year on May 8th the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement celebrates World Red Cross Red Crescent Day to coincide  the birthday of the founder Henri Dunant.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Red Cross consists of a team of 150 plus registered volunteers spanning the length and breadth of our beautiful by nature Turks and Caicos Islands. Many in the community will recognise us with our bright red emblem emblazoned across our clothing and carry out our work across these islands.

We are the people you see and have come to rely upon when a disaster strikes, when there is a need for comfort whether providing psychosocial support or restoring family links in the aftermath of disaster. We are nongovernmental society that work as an autonomous auxiliary to the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands delivering humanitarian aid throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.

As we celebrate World Red Cross Day 2021 under and theme “Together we are Stronger”, we encourage your participation in our work whether it be through volunteering your time or making a donation. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed many challenges for us however it has not lessened the spirit of volunteerism and giving… “The power of Kindness.”

During these challenging times persons in the community both locally and internationally have given of their time and money to help others, most noticeable in our food assistance program for those in significant need in our communities.

We thank our donors and volunteers for their tireless dedication and continued work in the service of humanity and encourage new volunteers  to join us. We thank our many donors who make our work possible.

Donations can be made to our account located at FCIB 10305747. A small act of kindness can change someone’s life!
