Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, April 15THFlow TCI, has announced plans to expand its Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network footprint on the island of South Caicos. Flow Country Manager, Joanne Missick shared details of the new fibre roll-out at a formal meeting which included newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for South Caicos, Hon. John Malcolm, District Commissioner, Mrs. Yvette Cox, and members of the FLOW TCI Senior Leadership Team.

Flow TCI Country Manager, Joanne Missick stated: “I wish thank our customers and stakeholders in the community of South Caicos for their continued loyalty as work towards delivering a faster and more reliable broadband service.  It is our hope that by the end of the summer residents will be able to enjoy a new suite of high speed FTTH broadband packages that will offer faster downloads, smooth streaming, and gaming with no delays.”

The new FTTH build in South Caicos is expected to commence next month and the new service is expected to be available to customers within three months.

Member of Parliament, South Caicos, Hon. John Malcolm remarked: “On behalf of the community of South Caicos, I wish to say a big thank you to Flow and Country Manager, Joanne Missick, and her team, for delivering the good news that the company is moving quickly to upgrade the Wi-Fi and internet services with the installation of fibre optic hardlines, the most innovative telecommunications connectivity on the market. The people of South Caicos are excited this is finally happening.”

This is more great news for residents of South Caicos, as the company had earlier this year also partnered with the District Administration for South Caicos and FORTIS TCI to provide a FREE public internet hotspot service in the community.  The additional connectivity has allowed South Caicos students to remain connected and to manage the increased demands for remote learning access due to the impact of COVID-19.

District Commissioner, South Caicos, Mrs. Yvette Cox added: “There is no doubt that a move like this will make Flow a game changer in the way internet service is delivered to the island of South Caicos, when one considers the past three to four years. Having this news is indeed a breath of fresh air. I also wish to express profound thanks to the Country Manager and her team.”

Flow TCI has agreed to provide on-going updates for this project to both the District Administration and Ministry of Home Affairs, Public Utilities, and Transportation, until its completion, and has committed to visiting customers and stakeholders on the island on a quarterly basis.

Accompanying Flow Country Manager, Ms. Joanne Missick, to the meeting were Business Support Officer, Ms. Anissa Coverley, Network Operations Lead, Mr. Wayne Gardiner, and Hospitality Business Account Manager, Mr. Rashard Goddard.
