#TurksandCaicos, March 8, 2021 – The Premier Honourable Charles Washington Misick held an introductory meeting with the National Insurance Board at the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, 25 February 2021.
The objective of the
meeting was to hear from the Board updates on the routine operations of the
organization and to discuss the ongoing Employee Benefits Programme.
The Premier and members
of the Board also discussed digital integration of the Board’s contributor
payments to strengthen the efficiency of the compliance arm of the
organization. Commenting on the meeting the Premier stated, “This initial
meeting with the NIB was a very productive one. I have gained insight into some
of the critical functions of the Board and briefly discussed plans to increase
efficiency and performance across the organization.
It is my plan to
review, along with the support of the Board, the Employee Benefits Programme to
ensure that the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands who have been affected
by this pandemic are receiving the assistance they need to return to some state
of normalcy and alleviate any accumulated debt as a result of COVID19.”
