#TurksandCaicos, March 30, 2021 – No time to wallow about a first game defeat for the Turks and Caicos National Football team.  It was a disappointing match one for the TCIFA team at the Concacaf World Cup Qualifying game held in the Dominican Republic over the weekend.

TeamTCI was crushed by Nicaragua; final score was 7-0.

The next match is Tuesday March 30 against Belize and head coach for the Jaguars, Dale Peleyo was reportedly in the stands watching TCI.  Peleyo told media back home, he wanted to check out the competition first hand.

Belize also lost its first match against Haiti; 2-0.  The match was staged in Haiti, amidst ongoing civil unrest.

The national team for Belize, just days before was cornered by armed insurgents, who stopped the Haitian police escourt for the bus moving the team.  Despite the traumatizing scrape, all members emerged unharmed but FIFA took some reputational hits.

Team Turks and Caicos, ranked 203rd will face Belize, ranked 170th not in volatile Haiti but in the Dominican Republic.  The game is set for the Pan American Stadium in Santo Domingo.

The TCI vs Nicaragua match was carried live on both FlowSports and Digicel this past Saturday; natives are expecting the same will happen in the March 30 football match up.
