Digicel Supplies Chrome-Books To Enid Capron Primary School

A group of deserving students attending the Enid Capron Primary School were the recipients of 10 HP Chrome-books on Wednesday, March 25. This initiative, powered by Digicel, will aid the students in their at-home and advanced studies for the remainder of the school term and beyond.

Principal of ECPS, Sophia Garland, was key in selecting those receivers who found it difficult to get access to dependable and quality devices for online learning during the pandemic.

“We are beyond grateful for Digicel and this generous donation. For the past year we have seen the struggles of our students and their families as a result of the abrupt transition to at-home learning.” She added, “While I do believe teachers, parents and students did their very best in coping through the challenges, these devices will play a major role in alleviating those difficulties and we can’t say thank you enough.”

Head of ICT Business Solutions Digicel TCI, Lydia Tucker, lead the handover presenting the students with the HP Chrome-books, MIFI devices complete with student data plans, soft covers for their brand new devices and a word of encouragement.

“We know this pandemic was especially hard on students. Digicel is proud of all of you for staying the course and remaining focused through the challenges.” Tucker added, “We are always willing and happy to give back in ways that will benefit the learning and development of our youths and we will continue to build on this relationship with the school to ensure that we can continue to do just that.”

Regional CEO of Digicel Sinead O’Marcaigh was also present and engaged with the students on their favorite subjects and plans for the remainder of the school year. “These students are a special group of students whom are passionate in incredible areas of studies ranging from linguistics to health science.” She continued, “These devices along with the MIFI student data plans will give them better access to the information they need to further their education and also tap into their individual interests and we are most excited about that.”

Principal Garland says the students will be able to use the devices both at home and at school as schools across the TCI prepare to partially transition back to classroom learning.
