#TurksandCaicos, March 1, 2021 – After an epic success for the Progressive National Party (PNP) on Friday 19th February, Premier-elect Hon C. Washington Misick addressed the nation shortly after swearing-in of the new cabinet minister, emphasizing their readiness commitment to deliver their mandate to the Precious people of Turks and Caicos Islands.

In his powerful speech, the Premier thanked the Turks and Caicos Islands people for the new administration’s great trust. The Premier further assured the electorates that the new installation would work hard to deliver on every promise they made to the Turks and Caicos Islands’ great people.

“As we celebrate our victory, we’re also mindful of our responsibility to honor the faith and trust that you have reposed on us. You have given us the mandate to work on your behalf. To empower you and build the Turks and Caicos Islands.  As Primer, I give you my word: we will work hard to deliver on every promise we made in our contract with the people.”

Without hesitation, the Premier emphasized that the task will not be easy. Besides that, Hon. Misick revealed that Covid -19 took a severe toll on the Turks and Caicos Islands people and ravaged the economy, with the evidence visible everywhere. But he assured the people that the government would provide tangible support in the form of stimulus, vaccines, and packages to those in need.

He also pointed out that the war against Covid-19 can only be successful if everyone takes responsibility through social distancing, proper handwashing, wearing masks, sanitizing, and get the opportunity to get vaccinated. This was in light of the ever-increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the Islands since the beginning of the year.

In his closing remarks,  the Premier promised a transparent administration, which is people-centered and promotes togetherness across all government, opposition, and public facets. And the work has just begun.
