Gunmen swarm in Five Cays; 74 year old man shot

#TurksandCaicos, February 19, 2021 – Just before the curfew was lifted the gunmen come out of their shadows in a shooting in Five Cays which could have killed an elderly resident; the man was struck in a hail of bullets. 

“Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, in Five Cays Providenciales. Reports are that officers responded to a home along Five Cays Road shortly after 11:00 p.m. and spoke to the complainant, who said that she had heard several gunshots outside of her family home and a 74-year-old was shot. The older man was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries,” said Police in a Thursday statement.

The 74 year old is said to be doing well despite the ordeal. 

The same day, Police released four WANTED POSTERS featuring some known suspects; namely: John Spencer Missick; Hayward McIntosh; Derrick Missick Jr and Avardo Pean.

“The RTCIPF is continuing to appeal to the public for any information on the suspect(s). If you have any information, please contact 911 or Crime Stoppers Anonymously at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).”

NO motive for the crime was revealed; residents shared on social media images of an investigation underway in The Bight, believed to be linked to the shooting.
