Wesley Clerveaux joins Natl Health Insurance Board as new CEO on Jan 1, 2021

Turks and Caicos Islands – December 9, 2020 –  At least five more selfless residents of Turks and Caicos will find their names gracing public facilities in the coming days and weeks.  The Turks and Caicos Cabinet agreed to five women of the islands receiving timeless accolades.

Cabinet “Approved the naming and renaming of the following Government Buildings given their significant contribution to the Turks and Caicos Islands within their profession and field of work…”

The Grand Turk Wellness Centre will become the The Sylvia C. Melhado Aged and Special Needs Center.  The National Stadium will be called The Corena Walkin National Stadium and several Early Childhood Blocks at government primary schools will be renamed.

At Iathe Pratt Primary, the block will bear the title:  The Jestina Delancy Early Childhood Center; at Oseta Jolly Primary School, the honour goes to Cecily Ewing and in a major tribute, posthumously bestowed, a former Education Officer will be immortalized at one of the country’s newest publically run schools.

Long Bay High School will take on the title: The Louise Garland Thomas Junior High School.

In another significant Cabinet announcement:  Wesley Clerveaux will shift from the Ministry of Education to the fraught National Health Insurance Board.  Clerveaux has been permanent secretary at Education since 2017 and a permanent secretary in government since 2012. 

Mr. Clerveaux assumes his new position as CEO and Director of the NHIB on January 1, 2021.
