Another vaccine to be ready in 2021, Australian Govt orders 51 million doses
#Australia, November 12, 2020 — Australia now with its own Covid19 vaccine entering third phase of trials; expects it will be ready by third quarter of 2021.
Announcement comes a day after world recorded its single most infectious day since the coronavirus gripped the planet.
Australia started its development of a vaccine at the University of Queesland in January.
51 million doses have been ordered by the Australian Government but the country will have a total of 130+ million doses due to its global contracting of vaccines from producers including AztraZeneca and Pfizer.
Looking to have sufficient to vaccinate Australians at least 3x.
If there is a surplus, supplies will be shared with neighbouring countries.
