Removal of MegaOne Triton – Governors Beach, Grand Turk

#GrandTurk – February 18, 2020 — The Ministry of Tourism wishes to advise the general public of the commencement of the removal for the MegaOne Triton from Governor’s Beach, Grand Turk. Due to this, residents and visitors are being urged to take caution when utilizing Governor’s Beach.

In September 2019 the Government through the legal tendering process, tendered the project TR 19/29 removal of Mega One Triton. This followed with the award of a contract to successful bidder, international company Koole Contractors.

The project officially commenced on 17th February; the removal will be done in accordance with the TCIG contract and strict adherence to international safety standards. Consultants, CWaves an expert company contracted to oversee the removal in accordance with methodology agreed, will be on hand.

Residents and visitors alike are being urged to obey signs which will be placed around the area for their safety. Due caution should be taken to avoid any injury or damage to self or property. The beach will remain open for access, however; we do request that barrier lines are not traversed for safety reasons.
