Sunrise postpones flights to Turks and Caicos

Port-au-Prince, December 16, 2019, Haiti – Sunrise Airways wants to inform press and the general public serving the city of Providenciales in the British Isles of Turks and Caicos, initially scheduled for December 16, is now postponed.

The Haitian economic crisis is weakening all sectors and it is important in this context to strengthen acquired and capitalize on the company’s quality objectives.

“Sunrise Airways, who had one sustained growth since 2012, focusing at the end of 2019 on its current commitments to it the Haitian, Dominican and Cuban communities that it serves on a regular or daily basis, but it does not lose sight of its Caribbean goals”, says Philippe Bayard, the company’s president.

“Our vision is based on the ambition to better connect the Caribbean region, to develop and strengthen.

There are many points between the different countries that make it up, and despite their differences they have a lot in common.  But the 2019 highlights require us to review our priorities, and they are human and social first of all.  

As of the end of 2019, the company has more than 130 employees and contractors, 11 different nationalities and in 3 countries.  Two new routes have been opened since 2018, from Port-au-Prince to Holguìn in Cuba, and from Santo Domingo to Havana. These reliable and regular connections increased the number of flights to 110 weekly provided by the company, which connects Haiti several times a week with cities Havana and Camaguey, and several times a day, Port-au-Prince to the Haitian Cape and Santo Domingo.

Sunrise also expanded its fleet with 2 Boeing 737s (photo) reserved for connections to Cuba, in addition to the 4 aircraft serving PAP-CAP and PAP-SDQ (Santo Domingo). The company will soon expand its network Caribbean from the Dominican Republic. With nearly 250,000 passengers carried this year on.  More than 5,000 flights, Sunrise Airways is aiming higher and higher.
