#Providenciales, November 18, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The Department of Social Development, Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Departments of Gender Affairs and the Department of Mental Health and Substance Dependence with the support of UNICEF will be conducting Focus Groups on Providenciales and Grand Turk on the topic–Mediation for Parents and Children exposed to Domestic Violence.

As Departments with responsibility for helping to prevent, intervene and address issues of domestic violence, we realize that collective efforts must be taken to provide better service delivery in this area.

In an effort to gather information that would assist in developing and compiling our policy on the topic, it is important that we meet with persons directly and indirectly affected to obtain their views and feedback on what works, what does not work and how to improve existing strategies.

To this end, we would like to invite ADULTS from the Public Service and Communities of Grand Turk and Providenciales to be a part of the Focus Group by registering.

The Focus Group will be held on the Tuesday 19 November 2019 at 12:45pm to 1:45pm on Providenciales at the Department of Social Development, Butterfield Square, Providenciales, next to Lapels Drycleaners;

Grand Turk at the Salem Baptist Church Annex on Thursday 21 November 2019 at 12:45pm to 1:45pm.

The information you provide will be kept confidential and will only be used for the intended purposes of developing a Policy on Mediation for Families who experience domestic violence. Note that the Focus Group is not limited to only persons who have experienced domestic violence but a broad cross section of adults.

Grateful if you would submit the registration form via email at tthomas@gov.tc or walk in, via an envelope to the Department of Social Development on or before Friday 8 November 2019. Refreshments will be provided. You can also contact us on 338 4008 Provo or 338 2684 Grand Turk for more information.

Your continued support would be greatly appreciated.

See attached Registration Form.
