BAHAMAS: Dominican Poachers Apprehended in Joint Operation

Coral Harbour Base, November 16, 2019 – Bahamas –The Royal Bahamas Defence Force vessel HMBS CASCARILLA, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Samantha Hart arrived at Coral Harbour Base Thursday November 14, 2019 12:30 pm.

The 76-ft. Dominican vessel was caught in the Cochinos Banks on Wednesday 13 November at 12:24 am as a result of a joint effort by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and the US Coast Guard.

Seventeen (17) Dominican fishermen along with their vessel containing a large quantity of fishery products, were handed over to the Fisheries authority for further processing.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains vigilant in protecting the territorial waters and marine resources of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
