TCI: Police Marine Branch Intercept Illegal Vessel
#Providenciales, October 12, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Following detection by the Coastal Radar System, an Illegal vessel containing
154 Illegal migrants was successfully intercepted on Thursday, October 10th, 2019 at 9:20 p.m. by the Marine Branch Unit.
The blue and red 40 FT vessel and powered by twin 75 outboard engines carried 106 Haitian males, one 15-year-old Haitian male minor, one 7-year-old Haitian female minor, 17 Haitian females and 29 Shri Lankan males.
The Marine Branch M/V Sea Pursuit with the assistance of M/V Sea Guardian towed the illegal vessel to the South Dock Port where the detainees were handed over to Immigration Officials who escorted them to the Detention Centre for processing and repatriation.
